A great atmosphere of sport and charity in Benalmádena

Álvaro Fernández, from Nerja, won the II Holiday World Coastal Race, raising money for the Hombre Project

The running bubble is increasingly difficult to keep inflated, due to the quantity and quality of races in the province. Few races maintain high levels of registrations and services. The II Holiday World Benalmádena Coastal Race this Sunday brought together 850 entrants, beating the 700 competitors from the first time it was held last year. The winning formula: generous and careful organisation; simultaneous 5 and 10 kilometre races to attract young and old alike, an attractive circuit full of sea views and, to top it all off, a paella to celebrate support for the Hombre Project, to which all funds raised by the event are donated. A complete success.
